House pictures

Before my family kills me...I had better post some pictures! Things are moving along at a busy speed....which is good, I guess. These aren't even completely up to date - but it's more than you've seen so far.

The front of the house. Looking good...looking large!

*****Update: No the beam is not crooked. The roof has to slop for drainage - making that part of the house look a little weird in this picture. I assure you...it is done correctly!******

Two of the kiddos under the stairs - which is a storage area.

Another child playing in the area under the stairs. What fun this is going to be!

All the kids on the stairs! Yep - they are goofy. :-)

So that is all for now. In case you didn't notice the time stamp on this post - I need to get to sleep. More later.

An Apple a Day

So let me ask you... how do you find the food your daughter has not wanted to eat? Look on her plate? In the trash? Oh no - that would be TOO easy. "So how?" you ask.

Follow the ants!

This morning, Haley came to tell me "Mom, we have piles of ants in the kitchen." Upon further investigation (ie following the little ant line) I see they are headed up the cabinet we have our microwave setting on. I'm thinking there are going to be ants inside the microwave. Nope. "Hmm...where are they going?" Then I bend over to look under the microwave. BINGO. Under there I find the remnants of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, crackers, ham, apple slices, a cereal bar and more. A good cleaning was in order, to say the least. And Haley was there helping the whole time. Hopefully she won't do it again.

Firplaces

We have many many choices to make in the next day or two. One is whether or not to add a fireplace to the master bedroom. My opinion differs from my husbands - so I'm just curious what you all think. The poll is to your right. A simple yes or no vote is all that is required. Don't put too much thought into this.

Cuties

Sleeping on the job! That's what I feel like lately. I want to share pictures and happenings, but in the wake of everyday life, my poor blog has been neglected. Here are some more pictures of my cuties.

Helping Daddy with house stuff. What a lot of work this is!

Healthy teeth -
what struck me about this picture is that my baby is SO not a baby anymore.
Look at how grown up he looks. :-)

Teeth look good! This was her first time and she wasn't even scared!

After we got the kids to bed, hubby and I went grocery shopping. (Don't worry, Uncle was here!) When we got home, these two cuties were sleeping in our bed! And just for the record - they picked out what to wear to be themselves.....so don't judge me for that! Yes, that is a gun Taylor is sleeping with (it's a toy!)- and Haley has her mariposas (barbie fairy butterfly toys) in the hand that didn't make it into the picture.

I can't promise that the summer will be much better and the fall will probably be even worse since we'll be moving into our house. (God Willing!) This week I have lots on my plate. For my sewing business, 2 nap mats must be finished, a t-shirt, and a blanket. There are a few other things in the works as well. In my personal time, there are 2 brand new babies that need a little sometime special made for them, a precious little 2 year old, and 2 kinder boys that have parties this month. Whew! I'll try to involve you as much as I can! Have a great week.

Oh yeah - and I'll get more house pictures on soon ... soon ... soon ... or maybe I should say later!

We can cook

Got a great deal so we snatched it up! Yippee!!!! It is now in our master bathroom linen closet. HA! Soon it will be in our real kitchen.

Things are moving along, more pictures next week!

Concrete and Walls

Today I wanted to show you the concrete slab and some of the walls going up with a crane. By the end of the week, I should be able to show you the completed second story!!!!!!

We could walk on it the same evening of the day it was poured! Then the framer came out to snap lines of all the walls he needed to build.

The framer builds the walls on the ground and uses the crane to lift them into place. He has also added the floor joists, and some metal beams - but I don't have pictures that show those yet!

More later - I still need to share photos from a water party, the trip to the children's meusem, the zoo and a great movie night. *Sigh* Not enough hours in the day.

Now, back to getting fabric listed.....
